After careful thought, and much consideration, I have finally decided to let loose and create a blog.
I bet 99% of the people reading this right now are my family and friends, and to them I say hello. If you are not, let me introduce myself. My name is Benjamin Hudy and I am currently a sophomore at Illinois State University where I major in journalism. As you can probably tell by the front page, I have an insane obsession with sports and pop culture. So I created this blog because I want to write about them.
The little icon when you open the page is basically an exact representation of me, and that's why I chose it. My thought process was, what stock image will give the reader the best impression of me. A dude leaned back in the couch to me represents everything I live for.
What are the most likely topics that will be covered on this website you might ask. While I love all things across sports and pop culture I definitely have my favorites.
Expect to see the Cubs, Bears and Bulls covered a lot on this website. Whenever I have a raging thought, the plan is to usually come on here and vent about it because why the hell not.
Anything "Star Wars" or superhero related. I am a huge nerd and I want to have the ability to write about those movie universes.
The MLB and NFL will also be covered on here a ton. While I am a fan of all sports, nothing quite gets me as excited as those two leagues.
Finally, movie reviews. I see way too many movies and when I see one that I think is big enough to have a review written about it, it will be done.
There is a lot to be done here and a lot I am excited for. I have a lot of great ideas for weekly blogs, and I want to put them in motion instead of just sitting on my ass. Oh, and also, the name is a work in progress. Trying to find something that combines sports and pop culture is painful.
So hopefully this gave you a better idea of what I am all about as well as what this website will be all about. I am excited to learn as I go and hopefully begin to create a following. But most importantly, I just want to voice my opinions and write about what I love.
